ACNL Day #3-4: Who Cares About Fireworks Anyway?

HNI_0079

Destiny’s house is looking pretty nice.

HNI_0080

In the mail, Destiny got a potted ivy and red tile flooring from Astrid and Stinky. It looks okay, I’ll probably remove them and put them in another room with the birdbath.

HNI_0081

Again? Jeez Astrid, have you even changed anything?

HNI_0082

Yeah, it’s the same as it was yesterday…

HNI_0083

Again, I complemented the place and Astrid denied it. What’s her problem today?

HNI_0090

Penelope just moved in. I really like her house! I’ll definitely give her some pink hybrids in the future to make it look even more colorful.

HNI_0091

D’aww, what a cutie.

HNI_0092

I dropped by Vesta’s place and Stinky was also there.

HNI_0093

Haha, not this time. I’m burying this on the beach so no more of these pesky things show up.

HNI_0094

Fireworks show on Sunday. I would be excited but there isn’t really anything interesting to do on these days…

Anyways, back to our perilous quest to take down that darn permit and finally-

HNI_0095

Oh. Never mind. I guess the problem solved itself overnight. HNI_0097

Something else of importance: paying off Destiny’s debt for the first time! Now she doesn’t have to live in a house the size of an outhouse anymore!

HNI_0098

Went over to Nook’s to expand and ran into this guy. I’m not very familiar with the HHA in New Leaf. I think later on they’ll give me a theme and I have to match it?

HNI_0099

Destiny’s house will be a bit larger soon.

HNI_0100

Oh if only our community were full of fruit trees so that you could simply pick fruit for yourself, Stinky.

HNI_0002

HNI_0004

Destiny’s house now. Added a dawn shirt I found at Ables Sisters (I actually bought a lot of clothes at the Ables Sisters…) and the wooden stool. Saving the makeup case for later. I’ll definitely customize the wooden stool so that it’s pink.

HNI_0006

Changed Destiny’s outfit. If only I had the jester pants…

HNI_0007

Found this while shaking trees. Now my astro couch won’t look too out of place.

HNI_0011

Destiny’s house now.

HNI_0012

Finally got to see the inside of Bruce’s house.

HNI_0013

I didn’t know you were so into interior decorating Bruce.

I caught a few bees from shaking trees and gave him one.

HNI_0014

…thanks for the oil? Seriously, who decorates with oil barrels? Or traffic cones and phone boxes for that matter. Bruce is a weird guy…

HNI_0015

HNI_0017

Stop trying to get me to buy your stuff, Stinky. You’re starting to look desperate.

HNI_0020

The next day, Destiny’s house expanded. So much more elbow room! I spread out her furniture and added a sleek chair that Destiny’s mother sent her.

Oh and someone new is moving in now that Penelope is settling in. Let’s check and see who it is…

HNI_0021

Well, well, well. If it isn’t old Moneybags himself… This emo little cream puff is worth so much you might as well just call him “dollar signs”. If he doesn’t make an impression, I definitely won’t pass up the opportunity to make some money off of him.

HNI_0022

Penelope seems to be doing nicely. Didn’t have much to say though.

HNI_0023HNI_0024

HNI_0025

No one wanted anything done and there wasn’t much to talk about.

I do wish villagers were more interesting in New Leaf. They really watered them down. I’m actually starting to miss the snooty villagers criticizing my fashion sense and the cranky villagers gossiping about everyone behind their backs. Hell, I even miss Resetti!

HNI_0027

Woohoo, fireworks show. For the people who want to blow their money on useless knicknacks with a tiny chance of getting something worthwhile, the lovely phone. I would try my hand at getting one but I already have one in another town, so I’ll just transfer it over later…

HNI_0030

Oh look, I can’t even advance further into the game today. Grand, just grand! This fireworks show is doing a lot more harm than good.

HNI_0031

A giant marshmallow the day Marshal moves in!? Coincidence!? I think so!

HNI_0032

Let’s celebrate the end of summer by dressing up as fruit and wearing tacky green shorts!

HNI_0033

I love this leaf. It just looks so… chill.

HNI_0034

What are my villagers, salesmen? Stop trying to sell me stuff!

HNI_0035

Final shot of Destiny’s house. The final product should be mostly pink and white. I’ll get more lovely furniture and probably customize them all so that they’re pink and white. I’ll either customize the astro furniture to pink and black or remove it altogether. If I remove the astro furniture, I’ll use regal instead and customize it so that it’s pink. I’ll add a lovely phone too, as well as another marshmallow chair (preferably pink) and a soft-serve lamp. I’ll customize the wooden stool so that it’s pink and add more plants and flowers. Finally I’ll change the flooring, customize the oval clock and find some furniture to customize with the dawn and picnic shirts.

Really all I need now are bells. Thankfully Tortimer showed up on the dock today so I should hopefully be able to go to the island and make a lot of money that way from stag beetles and sharks.

That’s it for now!

ACNL Day #2: The Permit from Hell

Started today off ordinarily.

HNI_0085HNI_0086

Astrid shared her backstory with me.

HNI_0087

Barold asked me for fruit (while cowering behind his potted plant).

HNI_0088

Bruce asked for me to get him an angelfish.

HNI_0089

And Stinky asked for furniture.

HNI_0091

And it looks like a new villager will be joining us tomorrow. Penelope is pretty cute, I like her bow. She chose a nice place to put her house too.

I dug up some fossils, found a sapphire in a fake rock and picked some weeds before heading up to Main Street.

HNI_0092

Nookling Junction was selling this which is great for me. Fishing is a solid way to get bells early on.

HNI_0093HNI_0094

Bought these two items at Able Sisters. I’ll probably be collecting the pink zap suit outfit.

HNI_0095

That’s not too bad, but I won’t be paying it off today. Definitely tomorrow.

HNI_0096

HNI_0097

New door and “fence” for Destiny’s house.

HNI_0098

Bought Stinky a sprinkler on sale in Nookling Junction. Maybe he can use it to freshen up a little.

HNI_0099

This ought to look good in Destiny’s main room.

Speaking of which, let’s look at her new house.

HNI_0001

Oh, I apologize. Isabelle has to tell me some mundane information first. This time it’s how to use wallpaper, carpet and view my house from different angles. Things I already know, as usual.

HNI_0003

Kindly leave please. I never wanted you here in the first place.

HNI_0004

Here’s Destiny’s house with the lovely wall and with lighting.

HNI_0005

Quick visit to Re-Tail to sell my ore and fossils. Barold had this candy jar on sale, so I bought it.

Enough stalling. The sooner we get this done, the sooner we can move on.

HNI_0006

Time to enter Town Hall.

HNI_0007

Oh just get on with it! Shut uuuuuupppppppp!

HNI_0008

Those words send a shiver up my spine…

But we can do this. I know what I have to do.

HNI_0010

Let’s make a new town tune.

I try to make mine sound like Hardman’s Theme since it was stuck in my head at the time. It actually sounds pretty decent.

HNI_0011

Next: town flag. I’m feeling lazy so I just pallet swap the rose flag.

HNI_0012

Pfft, if you say so.

After picking all the weeds in the town, talking to my villagers and doing an errand for town of them, selling items to Re-Tail, creating a new town tune and a new town flag…

HNI_0013

Only 38!? Alright, we need to get serious.

Isabelle, what do you suggest?

HNI_0014

Why do I even bother…

Anyways, time to go fishing. That gives me a chance to find trash which I can dispose of in Re-Tail, new species I can donate to the museum, a chance to find Bruce’s wanted angelfish so I can have completed his errand and find fish I’ve alright donated to sell to Re-Tail. All of those things will raise the percentage of my town-development permit.

HNI_0015

HNI_0016

HNI_0017

HNI_0018

HNI_0019

HNI_0020

HNI_0021

HNI_0022

Indeed.

I also caught a can.

HNI_0023

After filling my pockets with my catches, I saw Vesta was home (she wasn’t earlier) and I decided to visit her.

HNI_0024

HNI_0025

On my way to Main Street, Stinky “pinged” me and wanted to buy my horse mackerel. Well, I can’t keep a cat away from his fish so I let him have mine.

HNI_0026

After donating my fish, I sold some of the extras for a solid amount of money.

Back to fishing.

HNI_0027

Stinky is very proud of me.

HNI_0028

He also wanted to buy my candy jar, but I said no. Jeez, was that mackerel not enough for you buddy?

HNI_0029

HNI_0030

HNI_0031

HNI_0032

HNI_0033

HNI_0034

Aaaand done.

HNI_0035

Astrid was next to “ping” me. She wanted me to come over to her place. Why not?

HNI_0036

HNI_0037

I really like Astrid’s house. (Although maybe Destiny should pay more attention to her hostess.)

HNI_0039

Astrid asked me if I wanted anything, so I chose to take her game shelf. It looked a little out of place in her house, and Astrid herself doesn’t seem like much of a gamer…

Afterwards I left and told the snooty kangaroo her place looked nice, but she was skeptical.

HNI_0040

Jeez, I was trying to compliment your house.

HNI_0044

Rearranged Destiny’s house. I put the candy jar in storage for now.

I went to shake some trees to find furniture, bees and hives to sell.

HNI_0045

Fortunately, I never got stung. I’m pretty good at this bee-catching thing.

HNI_0046

HNI_0048

Found these two items from shaking trees. I think the birdbath would look nice in a future room, but the bingo wheel is pretty odd. I decided to sell it.

HNI_0047

A walking leaf. Something else to donate.

HNI_0050

Oof!

HNI_0051

I hate it when the villagers remind you to take a break. I’ll quit when I wanna quit!

Right after that, Bruce “pinged” me.

HNI_0052

I love it when the crankies ask this question.

HNI_0053

I told him he’d be a dove. He kind of reminds me of one, with the nose and all. Definitely not a deer, why is that even an option?

Before I returned to the town hall to check on my development permit, I left a message on the message board. I think that boosts your permit’s percentage too.

HNI_0054

Art in its purest form.

So after picking all the weeds in my town, talking to all of my villagers, completing two errands, leaving a comment on the message board, selling items at Re-Tail, donating a lot to the museum, designing a new flag and town tune and disposing of trash what I may ask is my percentage?

HNI_0056

57 percent!? BULL. Absolute BULL. There’s obviously something wrong here if I’ve done all of that and my percentage is just over half.

And what does Isabelle recommend I do to increase my percentage?

HNI_0057

Oh no. You BETTER NOT be telling me to design ANOTHER town flag. I just did that!

She also tells me to dispose trash, pick weeds, create a new town tune and mingle with my villagers. What are you talking about!? I just did ALL OF THAT!

Either someone’s not paying attention or the system is jacked up and someone needs to look into it!

I stormed outside and ran into Stinky.

HNI_0058

I had no idea what he was jabbering on about, talking about “patrolling around Destiny’s house” but it turns out he just wanted to come over.

HNI_0059

(Weirdo.)

Anyway let’s try this again. I’m going to create another town flag and town tune and see if it works this time.

HNI_0060

This is the new flag. The writing is really sloppy but it’s a flag.

HNI_0061

I didn’t feel like re-doing my Hardman’s Stage town tune, so I just changed one note.

Of course it worked. My percentage increased by 6, 3 each. Not much, but better than nothing and Isabelle will stop pestering me about it now.

The only things I can think of doing now is watering flowers and fishing up more trash. Unfortunately I don’t have a watering can, but I can get one for free for listening to Isabelle drone on about advice for living here. Well, it can’t be any worse then the useless barrage of information I’ve been forced to put up with now…

HNI_0062

I select for “Advice for living here” and am instantly slammed with a wall of monotonous text. My will is strong and so is the grip on my R button as I speed through the text and am awarded with free paper. But that’s not what I’m looking for…

HNI_0063

One quick trip to the beach and much, much more dialogue later I am yet again awarded to (halfway) listening to Isabelle ramble on with three peaches. Again, useful but I need that watering can…

HNI_0064

Yet Isabelle blabs and yet I mash my R button, but finally I succeed! Isabelle hands me a watering can (and tells me everything about it, of course) and I am finally finished with the advice for living here. Thank goodness, FREEDOM!

I go around town watering every flower I see.

HNI_0066

I swear if this doesn’t affect my permit at all I’m going to jam it up Isabelle’s- never mind, that’s a bit impolite.

HNI_0067

Stinky and Astrid were conversing about their passions. I always check in to see what villagers are talking about when they start these conversations. They’re usually amusing, and I don’t want them to swap clothes most of the time. You can say I’m a bit nosy that way…

HNI_0068

Astrid had a flea on her so I helped her out. Gosh Astrid, I though you were the clean one, especially compared to Stinky

HNI_0069

Looks like I’ve caused a crowd. Bruce, what do you want?

HNI_0070

HNI_0071

Usually it’s a gamble to buy paintings from villagers, but I need to donate at least one piece of art to the museum so it can upgrade in the future.

Turns out it was actually legitimate too when I went up to the museum to donate it. When I came back, Astrid was next to “ping” me.

HNI_0072

Oh no, I’m not very good at greetings…

HNI_0073

Eh, better than nothing… (Looking back, I should have suggested “Yes my sweet”)

It was almost five o’clock by then so I went back to Destiny’s house and waited for Stinky to come over. It took him a while too, even though when I went inside a few minutes early he was walking just outside my door…

HNI_0074

We had a good time.

HNI_0076

Although he did trap Destiny on the couch for a while.

HNI_0078

After a while, Destiny had to go outside to get fresh air. Note: Don’t spend a large amount on time inside small quarters with someone addressed as “Stinky”.

Bah, that’s enough. I’ll finish the permit tomorrow.

ACNL Day #1: A City Called Town

HNI_0017

Well, here it is. My new town of Towncity. It’s not easy being this creative.

I want to plan what to do with my town as I go along, so there isn’t going to be a central theme. I won’t have any dreamies and I probably won’t be plot-resetting either. A lot of what happens will be based on what the game randomly selects, so let’s hope it all looks nice in the end.

Oh, and my mayor’s name is Destiny. I thought it was a clever name, since technically a lot of my town’s aspects are being chosen by destiny.

HNI_0020

Bruce is one of my first five villagers and was one of the three to greet me at the train station. He’s definitely one of my favorite deer villagers, if not my absolute favorite. I’m a big fan of his design. Glad to see him here!

HNI_0021

Stinky here is pretty cool. I like his wrestling mask. He’s doesn’t seem to be too big on hygiene though…

HNI_0022

Barold! Buddy! I have him in Chrono and he’s the best! Although I’m not sure about having the same villager in two different towns.

HNI_0025

My two other starting villagers are Astrid here and…

HNI_0026

…Velma the sheep! Awesome! Velma is actually a dreamie for my town Chrono!

Astrid is pretty cool too. I really like the kangaroos in Animal Crossing.

Anyway, let’s get down to business…

HNI_0023

I’m introduced to Isabelle, who I’m honestly not a fan of. She’s pretty annoying.

HNI_0024HNI_0027

Time to choose where to put my house!

HNI_0028

Yeah and it took a bit of time to find where to put my house too. There was always a problem with every spot I chose. I finally decided to put it close to Astrid’s house, surrounded by trees and just underneath a cool waterfall.

I’m thinking about making Destiny’s house a zen castle and the area around Astrid and her’s homes be a forested area of some sort with lots of trees.

HNI_0029

Much better than having to sleep outside. (I don’t have a bed or anything though…)

I return to town hall where Isabelle bogs me down with text (the NPCs are extremely talkative in this game…) and then leads me to the plaza for some sort of ceremony.

HNI_0031

Oh, stop. You’re too kind.

We’ve got a few errands to run so let’s get those over with. One of them includes talking to our villagers. We need to get loads of boring dialogue explaining obvious things off their minds.

HNI_0032

Most importantly, we need to get some money so I shake trees between talking. (Also random pansy in hair.)

HNI_0034

Oh hey, perfect pear! Lucky lucky.

HNI_0035

A not-so-subtle way the game teaches new players (and irritates players with basic intelligence) how to wear clothing is by having one of the villagers put on different clothes. Astrid asked me how this shirt looked on her, and I said it looked awful (honestly it did). So she gave it to me for Destiny to wear instead.

HNI_0036

Eh, it’s okay. More interesting to look at than the picnic shirt at least.

HNI_0037

Another thing I like about Astrid: her catchphrase is pretty funny. Something about her calling Destiny “my pet” just sounds hilarious to me.

HNI_0038

Went to visit Vesta last. She was busy sewing when I walked in. I wonder what she uses? (Wouldn’t it be awkward if she seared herself for wool?)

HNI_0039

Boy, these animals sure do break the fourth wall a lot. Destiny must be confused. “What START button!? Select Save and Quit!? What do you think this is, a Nintendo game!?”

Fortunately I survived all of that tedious dialogue and the next time I talked to Vesta she asked for a pear. I had one hanging around in Destiny’s pockets after shaking that tree with the perfect pear, so I handed it over to Vesta and got a lovely dresser in return. Lucky me, getting a storage item without having to buy the one on display in Re-Tail!

Speaking of Re-Tail…

HNI_0043
…might as well get this useless moment of these two interacting out of the way. Not sure what this would teach newer players. That you can recycle things at the recycling store?

Not much to do in Re-Tail after that. Might as well see what the villagers are up to now that they aren’t be monotonous.

HNI_0044

Oh Stinky…

Right after this he gives me an errand to give Astrid something he forgot was hers.

HNI_0045

Ha, ladydude. Love that nickname.

HNI_0046

HNI_0047

What can you expect from a cat named Stinky? It’s definitely not going to come back smelling like vanilla, that’s for sure…

HNI_0048

Oh god. I hate doing these. I always get them wrong. I choose clothing on a whim…

HNI_0050

Oh, hey! I got it right!

HNI_0051

Hey, not bad! I like this jester shirt on Destiny. I used to have the entire set of jester clothing. I think I still have it in Chrono. Maybe in my catalog?

HNI_0052

I checked to see if Barold wanted anything done, but he just wanted to know what I thought about his tiger shirt. Honestly I think he would look better in something more official…

I collected some pears and went off to sell them in Re-Tail.

HNI_0053

Vesta was there and seemed interested in buying a house plant that was on sale. Her upper corner of her house looks a little empty, so I let her buy it and hopefully she puts it there.

After that, I visited Nookling Junction and bought both a shovel and a net. The shovel especially will be super helpful this early on in the game. There are a lot of ways to get bells with it.

HNI_0054

I had enough bells left over to buy this oval clock. I think it would look pretty good in my future house along with my lovely dresser. I know there a lot of ways to customize it.

Now that I’ve bought a shovel I can get money from…

HNI_0055

…ore found in fake rocks…

HNI_0056

…and money rocks.

Evaluated fossils are also worth a decent amount of bells.

HNI_0057

While searching for all four fossils in my town, I saw Bruce hanging out on the beach. He wanted something new to put in his house. I thought the lantern Isabelle gives you after rudely barging into your tent would look pretty nice in his place, so I went back to my place and got it for him.

HNI_0059

While I was there, I dropped a few items off. Snazzy, ain’t it?

(I usually don’t go into my tent when playing this game, since I find the whole tutorial on placing and moving furniture extremely tedious. I’m sure a new player would be able to figure it out on their own if given the chance, it’s pretty straightforward.)

I returned to the beach to hand over Bruce’s new item. He seemed pretty satisfied with it, and awarded me with a fantastic prize.

HNI_0061

Beautiful.

I found all four fossils for the day and went to evaluate them at the museum. On the way I caught a few bugs to donate. I’m thinking about trying my hand at filling my encyclopedia and maybe even my museum. It can’t be too hard, can it? (Then watch as I tear my hair out over it.)

HNI_0062

HNI_0063

HNI_0066

HNI_0067

Two cicadas, a locust of some sort and a banded dragonfly.

HNI_0068

Yo, Blathers.

I donated my bugs and took my fossils back to Re-Tail to sell them along with that amethyst I found.

HNI_0070

Hey, not bad! Not bad at all! Especially for early on in the game. That means Destiny can pay off her 10, 000 bell mortgage today and still have a nice amount of money left over.

HNI_0071

I also saw Bruce not far from his house on my way to Main Street. How did he get all the way from the beach (upper left corner of town) to right beside Re-Tail (the bottom right corner of town)?

HNI_0072

Simple.

Destiny pays it off easily so her house will be ready tomorrow.

HNI_0073

Destiny looks good in red.

HNI_0074

Sealing the deal.

Just a few more things to do now.

HNI_0075

July’s DLC item is a Leo sculpture. Maybe I can make a bathroom with the Leo sculpture and the super toilet in it?

HNI_0076

Now that I have the money, I can buy the astro sofa. I’m going to try and purchase as much as I can from Nookling Junction so it can upgrade as soon as possible.

HNI_0077

Then I visited the Able Sisters. Pfft, “fashion palace”. Bit of an exaggeration there, Mabel.

HNI_0078

I tried to talk with Sable but she wasn’t in a talkative mood at the moment.

HNI_0079

This rose tank would make a very nice summer dress for Destiny.

HNI_0080

Also bought some armor. Just in case.

HNI_0081

In Labelle’s part of the store, I bought an eyepatch because I really like eyepatches.

HNI_0082

And finally, some brown glasses. They match Destiny’s shoes.

HNI_0084

Last thing I did was alter Destiny’s tent. I’m thinking her main room with have a lot of pink and purple. I’ll definitely customize the astro sofa in the future so that it’s pink and black, or just remove it altogether. And that picnic tee to the right of the lovely dresser would look good customized with something…

But anyway, that’s my first day in Towncity. Tomorrow we’ve got more work to do. Tedious work. Frustrating work. I’m not really looking forward to it… but it must be done.

We have to get a 100% approval rating.

I’m not dead!

A few months ago I started a blog and then I kind of got bored of it and decided to forget about it… Well I obviously changed my mind and now I’m back to blog about Animal Crossing!

I’ve already started my town on my second cartridge and I’ve already progressed really far. I could still update on it, but that wouldn’t be fun would it?

I restarted Cakebury for cycling purposes, but between you and… whoever’s reading this… cycling is a pain in the rear. Not at all a good way to get a profit. Might as well turn my digital copy into the subject of this blog now! Better then letting it rot anyway.

I’ve already started my new town and have all the pictures ready, so the first official post should be up sooner or later.

So let’s try this again.

Hello, I’m Ebony. I’m a girl just getting into videogames and I felt like starting an Animal Crossing blog, so I did.

And here it is.

Got my second copy!

I finally got my second copy of Animal Crossing! I’m already planning out my second town, which I plan to put more thought into then Cakebury. Speaking of my other town, an update on what’s been happening should be up either later today or tomorrow.

A Tour of Cakebury

So here’s Cakebury in all of its unfinished glory! It’s a sweet-based town, which I’m sure is overdone but too bad. All of the villagers are supposed to represent a dessert of some kind. That’s basically all the resemblance to sweets I have at the moment though, other than a few patterns.

Map of Cakebury

Here’s an map of Cakebury to refer to. I’ll just be showing you the most important parts of town.

Image

But before we look at the town itself, we should start with this town’s most important person: me! Or more specifically, my mayor Sprinkle here.

I didn’t get a very good picture of the outside of her house, but I’m sure you get the idea. She’s standing in a garden of red and white roses, which I use to grow pink hybrids.

HNI_0094

Here’s a shot at the back of Sprinkle’s house, and you can see her roof now. I had a lot of pink lilies so I made a garden of them along with some perfect cherry trees.

So, let’s take a look inside, shall we?

HNI_0046

This is the main room of Sprinkle’s house. I’m collecting rococo and golden furniture to put in it. It doesn’t fit her house or appearance in the slightest, as she looks really sweet and child-like, but… come on. Doesn’t it look cool?

I plan to replace that palace flooring with the golden floor and get some more golden items in general, so I better get to hitting those rocks.

HNI_0047

The second room I’ll be showing you is Sprinkle’s kitchen, which I’m not very happy with. Obviously the theme here is food (very original idea, took a while to think of) but the fruit set looks so tacky. I mean for pete’s sake, there are two giant watermelons smack dab in the middle of the room! I need the Sweets series, but that won’t be for sale until Autumn so I have to put up with this for a few more months.

HNI_0048

This is the last room I’ll be showing. It’s on the second floor, and is the only completed room in Sprinkle’s house. It’s made up of Lovely and Modern Wood furniture and it’s supposed to be Sprinkle’s bedroom. I think it works! It seems to match her, with all of the pink and what not. It’s not like my main room which seems too fancy and elegant for my mayor and the giant yellow watermelons.

HNI_0049HNI_0050

Here are some more shots of Sprinkle’s bedroom. I’m very satisfied with this room!

You could probably tell from the first picture that I have two more rooms, but they aren’t worth seeing. They barely have any furniture and have not been expanded yet so they’re very cramped. The one in the back will be an outdoors garden while the room to the right will be a bathroom with an aquatic theme.

Now that we’ve toured the house, let’s take a look at the actual town! Here’s the tour of what I currently have in Cakebury.

HNI_0096

Right next to Sprinkle’s house is O’Hare, my main smug villager. …well, my only smug villager. I don’t like the placement of his house very much since there isn’t much room between both his and Sprinkle’s houses, but I like him a lot though so I won’t move  him out. The dessert he represents are those chocolate bunnies usually associated with Easter.

HNI_0003

Hey, remember when I said all of the villagers in my town are supposed to represent a dessert of some kind? Well, Antonio here doesn’t. And look where he plopped his stupid house! This part of my town is very crowded, which you can see on the map and Antonio is just making it worse. Antonio just had to choose the worst place possible, didn’t he? He better leave fast before I decide to get rid of him!

HNI_0005

A little north of that lousy anteater is Tipper the cow. Right next to her is Tammy. Tammy is obviously honey, I mean she’s a yellow bear for pete’s sake. Tipper is frozen yogurt or custard… I- I don’t know, I just have grown attached to her and want her to stay in my town so let’s just roll with it. I plan to give her a stone path of some sort leading up to her house. A very fancy entrance to the home of a very fancy bovine.  I also plan to add a lot of yellow flowers around Tammy’s house. I have a small collection of them to the right of her home, but not some to the left. Better work on that!

HNI_0007

Tammy has two next door neighbors. The first is the newest inhabitant of Cakebury, Cookie the dog. I got her from a giveaway and she’s all original too! I can’t wait for her to fully settle into Cakebury, as she’s still unpacking right now. Shame her house is in a terrible place though… There’s no room between Tammy’s and Marcie’s.

HNI_0092

Here she is! Cookie represents macarons, which I thought of immediately once I saw her color scheme, pink and white, and her name. (Macarons are cookies, right? Close enough I suppose.) Isn’t she just adorable?

HNI_0006

This is Marcie’s house. She’s one of my favorite villager and represents strawberry shortcake, which I  got from her color scheme. I feel Merengue the rhino would be a better representation of that, but she’s incredibly popular meaning incredibly pricey! I’m sure the regular asking price for Merengue is well over five million bells! That’s all of my savings… I did have Marcie’s picture once, but unfortunately my save was erased due to an accident and I ended up with Tammy’s instead. She has a pretty garden made up of white, red and pink roses. It had a lot more pink roses, but I ended up making the garden much smaller than it once was. Doesn’t look too bad, though.

HNI_0012

Here’s another house belonging to a dreamie of mine that I got recently. This is Hamphrey’s place. He represents licorice, which I also got from his color scheme. I’m starting to grow a little garden of black hybrids around his house.

HNI_0013

Behind Hamphrey’s is Coco the rabbit’s house. I want to grow more trees around this area in town to make it look like a forest, since Coco’s house looks a lot like a shack you would find the woods. …kind of creepy, actually, but then again Coco is a bit unnerving with the whole gyroid face. She came over from a person over Streetpass’ town, and I’m glad since I was a fan of her in an old town. (O’Hare also seems to be a fan, *wink*)

HNI_0015

This is the town square. I’ve covered the concrete with a brick pattern. It was a pain to cover this area and a bit annoying whenever a tent shows up, since the next day there’s a hole where the tent once was.  I guess it looks… okay?

HNI_0018

I’ve laid down the same brick pattern here in front of my train station.

HNI_0016

Here’s a better look at my town’s tree. It’s getting pretty big!

HNI_0017

This is my second character Amethyst’s place. It’s not at all developed and isn’t worth looking at from the inside, but I’m sure it will look great as soon as she makes enough money to improve her rooms. Sprinkle has already provided her a decent amount of furniture. I’ll give you all a good look at Amethyst some time later.

HNI_0019

To the right of the trains station, you can find Freckle’s house. I spent a while on the area around her house, but honestly I love the placement of the house more than the actual house itself! Heck, I don’t even like Freckles. Since I have Cookie now, I’m more than happy to get rid of her. I’ll build a cafe where her house was so this area doesn’t go to waste.

HNI_0020

Here’s a better look at one of the ponds by Freckle’s house. There’s another pond to the left surrounded by more pink and red flowers. You can also see Retail in the background.

That leaves that strip of land on the other side of my town’s major river. That’s where Filbert lives. He’s my favorite villager, and it’s because he’s so adorable!

HNI_0025

Everything he says is so cute! Toaster oven festival!? Daaaawww…

I also love his house! Here’s a good picture of the inside I got one day.

HNI_0091

Me and Filbert sitting on the couch!

Honestly, I love the blue lighting of this place with the starry sky wallpaper and the outer space theme. The “Two Days Ago” song as well as a nebuloid also go very well with Filbert’s place.

Alright, enough of my babbling I need to finish this tour. Here’s the outside of Filbert’s house.

HNI_0024

…yeah, not very eventful. I plan to add some bushes with blue flowers around his door, since Filbert represents blueberry muffins, but that’s all I’ve got right now.

That’s basically it. Near Filbert’s house is the town hall and campsite, but nothing interesting is in that area. The only thing left to look at is Cakebury’s Main Street.

On Main Street I have…

HNI_0027

…the second floor of the museum with four exhibits.

HNI_0035

I have a big collection of gyroids in the first one. I don’t need any of them, so I plan to sell them.

My second exhibit has a bunch of balloon furniture that I also plan to sell, along with a few unwanted Gulliver items and some sleek furniture I plan to give to Amethyst. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of that exhibit…

HNI_0036

This is my third exhibits. Items in this room I may want to use but I’m not sure about. I know I want to give Amethyst this lucky cat in front of me…

HNI_0037

And here’s my final exhibit. It’s only full to the brim with ore! I plan to use some of the ore, but most of it I’m going to sell once Re-Tail is paying extra for it.

My other facilities on Main Street are…

HNI_0028

…Club 101, the Dream Suite…

HNI_0029

…T.I.Y, Harriet’s…

HNI_0030

…and Kicks.

That wraps up the tour! Anything else you would like to know, feel free to ask and I’ll post again once one of my villagers wants to move out!

Welcome!

I hope you’re not sick of this game yet because there’s one more Animal Crossing blog joining the WordPress community!

Greetings, potential readers! I am Just Another Mayor, who as my name may lead you to believe, am just another mayor of just another town full of walking, talking animals! You  may call me JAM for short if you wish.

So, what should you expect to see here, other than the obvious? I’ve just recently ordered a second copy of this darn game to do a bit of cycling and I’ve decided I might as well make a blog about it! You know, once I’m done with the whole cycling business. It would be fun to follow my adventures in a new town… I hope.

But alas, I can’t blog about a game that I don’t own yet. Fortunately, I have my original copy of the game to get some content from to entertain anyone who just might be reading this while my second copy ships. Think of it as a practice run. I’ll talk a bit about my current town of Cakebury first to get a feel for WordPress and then start blogging about my future second town once I’m comfortable with this whole “uploading pictures from my SD card” thing.

That’s basically it for now! My first real post should be up sooner or later.
